My Lucky Day tells the story of a little pig who unwittingly knocks on the door of a hungry fox rather than his friend, Rabbit. Upon realizing the fox thinks he has found dinner, the pig tricks him into doing things to better his "meal", such as cleaning the pig up with a nice, relaxing bath, "tenderizing" the meat with a good massage, and fattening the pig up with a nice, big plate of spaghetti. Eventually the fox is so tired from all the work of getting his pig ready that he falls asleep, giving the pig a good chance to escape. But then there is a surprise ending from that sneaky little pig!
This would be a cute story to have in my classroom for students to read during free time or independent reading. It has lots of colorful illustrations with excellent artwork. It is very entertaining and will teach kids that sometimes things are not always as they seem to be.
