ISBN: 0439560586The Frogs Wore Red Suspenders is a really cute poetry book. I am not a huge fan of poetry--even children's poetry--but this is full of different poems about different places around the U.S. It starts out with a short poem that takes place at Mt. Rushmore in South Dakota. Other poems include places such as St. Paul, Indianapolis, Kentucky, Texas, Seattle, Tuscaloosa, Florida, North Dakota, and the Grand Canyon. Some poems are about animals, including mice, otters, ducks, chickens, elephants, and squirrels. This is definitely a book of poetry I would love to have in my classroom. It's a fun book and children would love it.
